Our thoughts have never been as circulated and as easy to spread as they are today.
Within moments, virtually anyone with access to the internet can send his or her thought for all the world to see on social media. Photos are shared, videos are uploaded, and statuses can be updated continually.
However, there’s a place of perception that no one else can see: it is the internal thoughts of the heart.
Luckily, not everyone can see these ideas and thoughts. If so, we would have a lot more awkward situations, and a lot less friends. Our thoughts have always been private and hopefully always will be. But there’s one person who can always see what’s on your mind.
As the Creator, God can always see what you are thinking as easily as if you had your thought to every social media account known to man. While it’s easier to keep our words in check, it’s a lot harder to keep our thoughts in line.
This is why Psalm 20:14 can be difficult to read “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer” (NIV).
We should not only seek to keep our speech pleasing to God (whether it be on the internet or not), but we should also strive to keep the internal and ongoing thoughts of our heart pure, and pleasing to God as well.
